چکیده

The study investigated the composition and content of Σ15PAH in surface core sediments from Dachan Bay (DCB) Shenzhen city discussed effects urban development regional energy structure on marine environment through spatial distribution, vertical profile, sources Σ15PAH. results indicated that concentrations DCB ranged between 299 ng/g 2336 65 994 sediments. horizontal distribution PAHs with decreasing coastal to central areas implied land-based input PAHs. profile high concentration 0 cm–60 cm suggested pollution is attributed since 1950, especially after 1980s. According features low molecular weight (LMW)/high (HMW), diagnostic ratios their relationships total organic carbon (TOC) oil, pyrogenic were mainly combustion petroleum byproducts but biomass 60 cm–190 sediments, which corresponded variation surrounding areas. This have a great impact further controls pollutant emissions are still needed.

Distribution and sources of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the surface sediments of Gorgan Bay, Caspian Sea.

The level and source of 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) were investigated in the surface sediments from the Gorgan Bay, Caspian Sea. The sum of 16 PAHs (ΣPAH16) concentrations varied from 107.87 to 516.18 ng g(-1)dry weight, with average value of 270.96 ± 150.47 ng g(-1)dry weight. Ecological risk assessment of PAHs, indicated that adverse biological effects caused by acenaphthene, n...

Sources and distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediments, Thailand

To assess the distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and identifying the main source of the pollutants in coastal, canals, riverine and the upper Gulf of Thailand, surface sediments were collected from urban canals (n = 8), the Chao Phraya River (n = 11), estuarine (n = 9), coastal area (n = 14) and the upper Gulf of Thailand (n = 28) and analyzed for 3-7 rings of PAHs. Sources...

Source Apportionment of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in sediments from Chalong Bay, Phuket, Thailand

The potential sources of 16 PAHs in surface sediments from highly tourism activities of Chalong bay, Phuket province, Thailand were apportioned. Twenty-eight of sediment samples were collected by using van Veen grab Sampler from Chalong bay, Phuket. Quantitative analysis of the 16 PAHs which categorized according to the USEPA was analyzed by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS). Moreove...

Assessment of Sources and Health Risks of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the Street Dust of Dezful City

Street dust is mainly affected by the pollution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). PAHs are a group of organic pollutants consisting of two or more benzene rings and are mainly produced during incomplete combustion. PAHs have attracted widespread attention due to their high carcinogenic and mutagenic properties in humans. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the sour...

Identification of the Sources of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Sediments from the Romanian Black Sea Sector

The objective of the study was to determine the concentration of total PAHs and to identify the potential sources of contamination in sediments from the Romanian Black Sea sector. Sixteen priority polycyclic hydrocarbons were identified and determined quantitatively in samples of sediment collected from marine areas (depths over 20 m) from the 12 stations located between Sulina and Mangalia, du...
